I completed one mitten for the Peaceful Palms KAL. To my surprise, the braided pattern is simple and is knitting up fast.

Not a bad idea. Actually, the post below is of the mitten that's too big. I took a picture of the mitten in it's beginning stages.

Love the braid. What about knitting a lining? You could pick up stitches around the cuff, knit a smaller mitten, then turn it inside the other for a double-layer.
